Women are an inherent part, the basic unit of any society. A woman plays multiple roles of a mother, sister, daughter or a wife. Existence of a society is beyond imagination without the contribution of a woman who is not just a creator but has the ability to nurture and transform as well. She is the backbone who not just makes and shapes a family but also keeps it bonded together with unconditional love, support and care making it a home.
In a country that has had a long history of millions and millions of years of worshipping woman power as Goddess Shakti, women are still facing discrimination in the matters of education, employment, inheritance, marriage, politicsand in the field of religion too by being excluded from religious practices and barred even until now from entering some places of worship.
The vision of a progressive society is not possible to emerge without uplifting the condition of its women. From moral to behavioral to health, women play a vital role in imbibing the fundamental attributes of a civilized society in the growing generation of how to behave, speak, conduct and interact with others. But sadlywomen who make up more than half of the human race, have to deal with social, financial, physical, sexual, emotional and psychological suppression. Gender discrimination resulting in female infanticide has played a key role in bringing up cultural, social, economicaland educational differences in our society.
Having every right to be treated equal to men in every sphere, woman empowerment is the only solution for an overall development of society both at macro and micro level which can be achieved by creating an environment free from all social and family limitations imposed on them and giving the women equal rights with no gender bias in society as well as at workplaces. Women need to be provided with social, economic and educational powers so that they can become independent in all aspects from mind and thought and are able to take their own decisions. For a society to awaken, it is its women who must be awakened. Once the woman progresses, only then the family progresses, the society progresses and the nation progresses.
The modern society has now just begun to recognize and respect the individual identity of women, her aspirations, abilities and qualities creating and giving her an independent space to develop her faculties and to express them according to her own choice.
To be able to sustain confidence that comes with independence, self-awareness and spiritual empowerment needs to be imbibed in the absence of which one can loose one's self esteem when faced with challenges in the family or at work place. Meditation is the medium that can help women to progress towards strengthening and sustaining the confidence within. Meditation awakens the 'consciousness' to help one understand and become aware of oneself. Spiritual empowerment is the key that creates internal freedom and gives an insight, awareness and ability to make conscious choices to create realities that will lead to happiness, inner peace and well being. Swami Dipankar through the "iMeditate"- Dipankar Dhyaan meditation techniques has been constantly working in this direction of empowering women by organizing regular meditation workshops for them.
