Many passions in our daily lives surround material things and instant gratification. Because of this, it is incredibly important to realize your passion through your spirituality. Rather than channelling your passion into material things, use your spirituality to find your true passions. Sometimes it can be helpful to list the things you are passionate about, things beyond the material world.
There are many ways to use your spirituality to find your true passions. Use your subconscious for example as a glimpse into your innermost thoughts and desires, ones you may have even been keeping from your conscious self. Look for signs and clues in your dreams that can point you in the right direction. Take note of what is happening in your life. The universe has a way of showing you everything you need to know and providing you with the path to follow, you just have to be looking for it. You also need to accept that if you haven’t revealed your passions, you have not been prioritizing yourself or your spirituality the way you should. When you make yourself and your spiritual being a priority, you will see the signs your subconscious has been trying to show you much easier. Also important to keep in mind is that as we are raised in the material world, we often are taught to conform to societal expectations even if we disagree with them. Reflect on your childhood and think about what you used to be passionate about, before the limitations of the material world stifled them. Pay attention to the things that really make you happy. Beyond material items, what truly brings you joy? Reflect on what is happening in your life when you experience joy. Are you around certain people or in certain situations? You are in control of your own spiritual destiny, so use the tools available to you wisely. Notice thoughts that are reoccurring. Do you think about moving abroad everyday? Do you find great pleasure in writing stories to share with your family and friends? Think about what makes you happy, without taking into account anyone else’s feelings or thoughts. Sometimes, you have to be slightly selfish to discover your passion. In addition to paying attention to what brings you joy and listening to your subconscious, it’s also important to eliminate the distractions in your life. Things like excessive television, shopping for material items and poisoning your body through drinking and consuming other drugs, only serves to pull you away from discovering your passion. Most spiritual beings refuse to let themselves slip into the darkness that is the material world, which may mean distancing yourself from certain individuals and situations that you often find yourself in. For example, if you go out every night with a specific group of people and drink excessive amounts of alcohol, perhaps reflect on what your true connection to this group of people is. Would you maintain those friendships if alcohol was out of the equation? These truths can sometimes be hard to swallow, but it’s important to get rid of anything that’s holding you and your spiritual self back. Change your environment anytime it no longer serves your best interests in furthering yourself along your spiritual path. Use your spiritual identity to discover your passions. If you practice meditation everyday to further your spiritual journey to enlightenment, perhaps consider using meditation as a tool to uncover your passion and what lights fire in your heart. Most importantly, be patient with yourself as you journey to find your passions. You will not achieve enlightenment overnight, and you will not be able to discover your true passion in life overnight either. Simply acknowledging that you have the tools in your own mind to create whatever destiny you want will be enough. |
